Busy Bee.

I made two crochet hook rolls today. I am not a very good seamstress; I only recently figured out that I needed to put the thread through the thread guide on the top of that whole foot/needle contraption. It was a lot easier today than the last time I did this, for two reasons:

  • I resolved the aforementioned thread guide issue.
  • I used sew-in interfacing instead of remnant fleece.
The first roll I made, which you see here, is for Rick's great aunt, who is usually known as "Tia Mary". She crochets stuff for church bazaars, and other people all the time, and never asks for anything in return, so I thought she might like one of these - I made one for myself a long time ago. I did ok, until I was ready to sew the sides together and realized I'd put the pocket on inside out, so I had to pull out the good old seam ripper... (groan.)

This was the only huge mistake I made. For some reason the fabric still kind of bunches up on me a little, and I'm thinking right now that my presser foot is set a little too low. Anyhoo, after correcting the pocket, sewing the sides, turning it inside out, and ironing it , it turned out like this:
I liked using the interfacing way more than the fleece (which made the roll too fat), so I took some of my hoarded vintage fat quarters, and made a new one for me too:

Yay!! FYI, I am still totally unhappy with my camera, so hopefully by next week, I will have taken care of that. Forget this 3.2 mega pixel crap. What a joke.

I'm feeling a little better today - I fell asleep around midnight, and did not wake up until 11:45. Rick called around 7, and I talked to him for a little bit, but I barely remember it, because I was still half asleep. He asked me later if I wanted to go eat lunch with him at the office, so I did. Since then, I've been working on these little needle rolls.

Plans for tonight - I think I'm going to Starbucks with Big Rick, (not Rick Rick). I know that Rick Rick is just as tired as I am, if not more, and I've had twelve hours of sleep....he hasn't. So he needs time to rest.

Here's my little roll!! More later - I must find more crafty things to do.

Ta Ta!!
